Employed by Yamashita Associates, an urban design and investment banking company, Aesthetic Images had total design control to create the 35,000 s.f. headquarters for the National Board of Medical Examiners. This building was the punctuating end of a seven year urban design effort for one city block of Philadelphia. The look of the building was created by using egyptoid imagery and features a central atrium entry lobby. The interior uses internal terracing and communication stairs to connect interdependent departments. This allows the building occupants to have a sense of community and neighborhoods. A second floor elevated plaza was created and links this building to an adjacent conference center.
